SMIT offers Diploma courses in the faculties of Engineering and Pharmacy, our student admission committee members provide counseling, orientation and help choose them the right career and also coordinate all other issues related to students’ admissions.

Admission Procedure:

Eligibility

For First Year Diploma Course:


             Candidate should be an Indian National and should have Passed SSC (Std. X) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with minimum 35% marks in aggregate* with subjects Mathematics, General Science and English.

Note:

            *Term Aggregate is defined separately for State Board/ICSE and CBSE candidates in the information brochure available on http://www.dte.org.in/ poly2013 candidates are advised to read the online information brochure available on http://www.dte.org.in/poly2013. For State Board Candidates who have passed Mathematics (Code 71) and Science & Technology (Code 72) are only eligible for admission. In case of CBSE candidates, who have passed CBSE Std X school level examination shall not be eligible for diploma admissions, as school exam is not treated equivalent/ at par exam of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.


For Direct Second Year Diploma Course Admission:


            Passed the HSC (10+2) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (Science) or Technical Vocation or its equivalent examination with following subjects: English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 35% marks i.e. not less than 210 marks out of 600 marks. ITI, MCVC Pass with min 50% marks

For Candidates wishing admission under management quota:


            Candidates from Maharashtra State as well as from outside Maharashtra State having educational qualification as specified, are eligible for Management Quota seats available. They are required to apply to the college admissions office for these seats.


How to apply


            Candidates are advised to follow the rules for admission to First Year Engineering and direct admission to Second Year Engineering diploma courses as published by the Directorate of Technical Education(DTE), Maharashtra State from time to time.

All the candidates are advised to submit their applications to the Admission Authorities notified by the Government of Maharashtra on or before the last date of application, unless specified differently elsewhere.


Students are requested to follow following general guidelines for admission process:


            Application Kit will be available at ARC facility provided by our institute. Students can also approach their nearest ARC Centre. A provisional merit list will be displayed on DTE’s website: http://www.dte.org.in/poly2013 Grievances and corrections (if any) are to be submitted at ARC where the form is confirmed. Seats distribution will be displayed on DTE’s website followed by final merit list on DTE’s website http://www.dte.org.in/poly2013 Students have to Submit and Confirm the “Online Option Form of CAP Round I” through candidate log in by the candidate. Provisional allotment of CAP Round I will be displayed. Students who have been allotted admission to their desired course are required to report to those institutes as per allotment in CAP Round I. Institute wise vacancy positions and list of eligible candidates for CAP Round II will be displayed. Students have to Submit and Confirm the “Online Option Form of CAP Round II” through candidate log in by the candidate. Provisional allotment of CAP Round II will be displayed.

           Students who have been allotted admission to their desired course are required to report to those institutes as per allotment in CAP Round II. Institute wise vacancy positions and list of eligible candidates for Counseling Round (CAP Round III) will be displayed. Students are then required to approach desired colleges for pursuing their desired course. All admissions have to be made within cut off date for the academic year as per admission notification of DTE

Note: The above guidelines may change if there is any modification made by DTE in future.


Documents needed: (Original as well as Photocopy):


(I) Medical certificate of Physical fitness

(II) Certificate of Indian Nationality

(III) Certificate of passing the qualifying examinations and other examinations, if any for which additional credit is given, with the statement of marks.

(IV) Certificate of Date of Birth, if it is not mentioned in the school or institute Leaving certificate

(V) Certificate in the prescribed form from the competent authorities of belonging to the Backward Class, if the candidate claims to belong the Backward Class.

(VI) Appropriate certificate as specified by government in support of qualifications claiming weightage, concession and/ or for qualification on the basis of which relative merit will be reserved.

(VII) Domicile certificate of the father/ mother where and as applicable.

(VIII) Requisite certificate from the competent Authorities in the case of candidates claiming to be the children of Armed forces personal transferred to Maharashtra state together with transfer order of father.

(IX) Transfer order in the case of children of Central government.

(X) Certificate in the case of candidate claiming to be son/ daughter of freedom fighter, or his wife or child or adopted child or step child, or grand child (child of predeceased son of freedom fighter).

(XI) Prescribed certificate of being physically handicapped if any

(XII) Prescribed certificate of participation in Inter-institutional sports, Games, debates, elections, Drama competitions.
